LISA AND LAWRENCE’S SAME DAY EDIT
LISA AND LAWRENCE’S FEATURE FILM
Q + A WITH LISA AND LAWRENCE
Q. HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?
A. Lawrence and I met at Columbia Business School – I noticed his yellow backpack, he checked out by backside.
Q. HOW LONG DID YOU DATE BEFORE YOU GOT ENGAGED AND HOW LONG WERE YOU ENGAGED FOR?
A. We dated for 2 years before we got engaged, but moved in together less than a year after we started dating. We were engaged for 10 months before we were married!
Q. WHAT WAS THE STORY OF THE PROPOSAL?
A. It was my 29th birthday so I already knew Lawrence was taking me some place special for dinner. As luck would have it, I also received a new job offer that day and was SO excited about that news. Lawrence took me to Babbo in NYC for dinner and avoided real hugs the entire night – it turns out he had the ring in his jacket pocket the entire time. After dinner he took me to the Central Park ice skating rink. We made one lap around the ice when he said he needed to tighten his laces. I was practicing my spins when I looked over and Lawrence was down on one knee, the ring in his hand, and a strange photographer snapping photographs the entire time. It was a blur, but Lawrence had hired a photographer to capture our engagement moment – such a sweet and unexpected touch.
Q. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING MARRIED?
A. My favorite thing is knowing we are just starting our new life together and we have so many exciting things to look forward to! The journey has just begun!
Q. WHAT’S THE FUNNIEST THING ABOUT BEING MARRIED?
A. For us…nothing really has changed! But…I like it this way – comforting and still special.
Q. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES FROM YOUR WEDDING DAY?
A. I absolutely loved our ceremony – my brother was our officiant and he made the ceremony particularly special and memorable. Lawrence and I wrote our own vows and we held a special “wishing” ceremony that involved everyone that attended the ceremony. It was personal, intimate and totally a moment we will never forget!
Q. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER?
A. There are so many moments that Lawrence and I missd throughout the day, moments that we would love to share with each other and our familis. Having a videographer to capture these moments is really irreplacable.
Q. WHAT IS ONE THING YOU’D TELL A COUPLE TO MAKE SURE THEY CAPTURE ON VIDEO?
A. All of the little details that are gone once the wedding is over – the way the flowers looked, your first look at your fiance, the way your dress swayed in the breeze. All of those things are so precious and make your day particularly special.
Q. WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU TELL A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?
A. Plan early!! I definitely did everything ahead of time if I could at all possibly do it. It made the weeks leading up to the wedding much less stressful. There are so many things to think about and so many things to do – the earlier you take care of things and check them off your list, the less you have on your mind!
Q. WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART ABOUT PLANNING A WEDDING?
A. The seating chart! Oy – so-and-so can’t sit with so-and-so – you’d think by now we would all be adults and just get along…nope!! =P
