MEAGAN AND GRANT’S E.SESSION

Q + A WITH MEGAN AND GRANT

Q. HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?
We met in college at Chapman University. We lived in the same dorm, on the same floor, and even had a bunch of the same friends; but we didn’t start dating until 5 years later after Grant graduated.

Q. HOW LONG DID YOU DATE BEFORE YOU GOT ENGAGED AND HOW LONG WERE YOU ENGAGED FOR?
We were friends for 5 years, then dated for 4 years (almost a year and a half of which we were engaged).

Q. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING MARRIED?
Having someone who is so like-minded around all the time who will laugh with you at things nobody else will. And knowing that no matter how hard things get, we will always have each other to fall back on.

Q. WHAT’S THE FUNNIEST THING ABOUT BEING MARRIED?
Megan: How quickly it all felt natural… When I don’t think about it, I feel like we have always lived together; but sometimes I look at Grant and think “my husband” and feel butterflies and excitement and disbelief. Blessings have a tendency to feel comfortable and surreal concurrently, don’t they?
Grant: I’d have to agree. The transition from dating to engaged to married flowed so seamlessly that I still get a goofy smile on my face every time I say, “my wife” in conversation.

Q. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES FROM YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Our reveal at the end of the dock was the most heart-stopping moment. We loved turning around after kissing to the cheers of friends and family who were spying on this intimate moment from the beach and balconies.

Q. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER?
Megan: Because film has always been such a passion for us both. As a child I was always mesmerized by home videos and old photographs and their ability to transport you back to specific moments in time. We had an immediate connection with Brian Press due to our shared love of film, family and values. We knew we wanted a videographer but when we met Brian we knew we had to have THIS videographer.
Grant: Capturing an important moment on film can not only remind you of a moment; but through editing and music that moment can be reinvented as something almost even more magical because it can be re-lived from a perspective outside of ourselves. Everyone says your wedding day will fly by in the blink of an eye, and I knew that I wanted a picture-perfect memory that I can re-watch any time I wanted.

Vinod - I am the Hindu priest who had an honor, privilege and pleasure to perform the Hindu wedding of Sonal Shah to Rick Bhasin at Terranea Resort, Palos Verdes, California on August 1, 2009.

It was a sheer joy to see the wedding video that was edited in a short period of time and showed to the wedding guests at the reception on the same day in the evening.

While watching this owesome video, I think the guests were speechless and breathless. They were silently admiring the most beautiful couple, Sonal and Rick, in the midst of the serenity and captivating natural beauty of Terenea Resort. And in those rare happy moments, some like me, may be feeling an union with the God.

What impressed me about the video was the eye of Mr. Brian Press. He is an outstanding videographer. He has an eye to see what other video graphers may not see. He has shown an amazing ability to capture and weave so many happy moments of this Shah Bhasin Hindu wedding in the most beautiful tapestry.

I understand that this video is going to be an entry in to an International Film competition. I am sure, the judges would enjoy this amazing video, and the beauty of the rare moments captured in the video would touch their hearts as much as they had touched the hearts of the wedding guests. I wish the best of luck to Mr. Brian Press, the videographer.
