Q + A WITH MARK AND AMANDA

Q. HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?
A. Mark and I are both coaches on the ice. He coached Hockey and I coach Synchronized Figure Skating. I was working in the pro shop over Labor weekend sharpening skates for a hockey tournament that Mark was coaching at. He saw me through the window and told the kids on the team “If you ever meet a cute girl that can sharpen skates, Marry Her” and the rest is as they say, History.

Q. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES FROM YOUR WEDDING DAY?
A. The first time we locked eyes during the processional and we shared a smile and a wave.

Q. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER?
A. A videographer is able to capture the special moments throughout the day. We felt that the video is something that you get to keep forever and we wanted to have something special to relive the memories.

Q. WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU TELL A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?
A. Be prepared for something to go not as planned. So that if it happens you will not be upset and if it doesn’t you will be surprised.

There is always a first time for everything right? Well, there was 3 things unique to Kitty and Pack’s wedding that we have never done before.
1) Kitty’s Bridal prep was at 4:45 in the morning! Whewww..
2) We got to film in a Beautiful Monk Temple
3) Got to film an e.Session in Thai. Yep, no english at all!!
How did we do it you might ask? Well, Kitty and Pack came over to our studios and helped us organize it and make sure that what they were saying on film was OK with the world!

I have to say, during their reception, I was not quite sure what to expect as I felt that during their interviews they were pretty mellow, but once the video started playing during their reception and their story came on, everyone was cracking up and really, really enjoying the video. I guess these guys said all kinds of funny stuff, but being it was in Thai, how was I supposed to know what was going on? Hope you enjoy!!:)

Q. HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?
I met him through my friend at a gay bar! Yeah you heard it “Gay Bar,” hahaha I am lucky he is not gay.

Q. WHAT WAS THE STORY OF THE PROPOSAL?
It was Valentine’s Day 2009. We didn’t have any plan’s to go out, so I told him we should go to a spa retreat and he agreed. While I enjoyed my massage I heard someone say “anything to drink?” I thought that would be good so I nodded my head, but wait, the voice sounds so familiar. I got up and he said “coffee, tea, or me” with the ring in front of me. I was so happy. We were happy!

Q. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING MARRIED?
Love:)We have the same goals in life, all the way down to smallest things and we always help each other out. He always make me laugh and makes life fun and interesting. She is good at using humor to cheer me up!

Q. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER?
We designed to have a videographer on our big day because we knew that we would be missing from those frozen moments of the wedding and videography has given the opportunity to have created a memoir of our wedding, complete with all sights and sounds of that most important event in our lives, a memory which can be revisited for years to come!

INCREDIBLE!! That’s really the only way to explain this top notch Hindu Indian Wedding that took place at the beautiful Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes California!

The Monday before the big day I was thinking about Ricky + Sonal and their upcoming wedding at the Terranea Resort and it was then that two words popped into my head. “Helicopter Shots!!” At first I thought to myself, nah, no way, but then I thought, hey, why not! Helicopter shots of Terranea and the beautiful Pacific Ocean would most certainly be an Impressive Creation! Plus, Ricky had expressed to me his love for the ocean so I thought this would be an amazing way to complement his passions and his vision for his wedding.  This is Palos Verdes Wedding Videography at it’s finest!


This wedding was no small feat! I had the privilege to work along side of Amy Patel of Planning Elegance who was an absolute joy to work with (and very calm by the way). I don’t know how you did it!! Jennifer Hyman, Leslie McCammon and Tracey Koven from Terranea Resort were extremely helpful and very accommodating throughout the entire planning process and the day of the wedding. I got a little nervous when the jib was a little bigger and badder then we all anticipated but the staff was great! Thanks Leslie!!

All the stages, linens, florals, floor plans and event design were coordinated by The Amazing Shawna Yamamoto. DUDE!! You rock Shawna! All day, we got to shoot along side of Michelle From Jim Kennedy Photography and the incredible lighting and set decor was done by Amber Yin at Amber Event Design. It couldn’t have been such an awesome party without the DJ Sandeep from Dhamaka Productions,  look how packed the dance floor is!

Their wedding is also highlighted current eddition of Ceremony Magazine. Gorgeous!!!! Again, photography by Jim Kennedy Photographers!

Vinod Dave - I am the Hindu priest who had an honor, privilege and pleasure to perform the Hindu wedding of Sonal Shah to Rick Bhasin at Terranea Resort, Palos Verdes, California on August 1, 2009.

It was a sheer joy to see the wedding video that was edited in a short period of time and showed to the wedding guests at the reception on the same day in the evening.

While watching this owesome video, I think the guests were speechless and breathless. They were silently admiring the most beautiful couple, Sonal and Rick, in the midst of the serenity and captivating natural beauty of Terenea Resort. And in those rare happy moments, some like me, may be feeling an union with the God.

What impressed me about the video was the eye of Mr. Brian Press. He is an outstanding videographer. He has an eye to see what other video graphers may not see. He has shown an amazing ability to capture and weave so many happy moments of this Shah Bhasin Hindu wedding in the most beautiful tapestry.

I understand that this video is going to be an entry in to an International Film competition. I am sure, the judges would enjoy this amazing video, and the beauty of the rare moments captured in the video would touch their hearts as much as they had touched the hearts of the wedding guests.
