NEETA AND ATUL’S FEATURE FILM
Q & A WITH NEETA AND ATUL
Q. HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?
A. We were both volunteering at a free eye clinic for the underserved at The Great Western Forum in Los Angeles in 2009.
Q. HOW LONG DID YOU DATE BEFORE YOU GOT ENGAGED AND HOW LONG WERE YOU ENGAGED FOR?
A. Started dating in October 2009, got engaged April 2010, married Sept 2012.
Q. WHAT WAS THE STORY OF YOUR PROPOSAL?
A. Neeta had just finished a big board exam, and Atul was at her condo waiting with a cab. The cab dropped us off at a beach in Malibu, where we walked around for a bit (with Neeta being utterly confused as to why they were there). While walking by the water’s edge, Atul got down on one knee to propose! After Neeta said yes, all of their friends came running down the beach — they had been secretly watching and waiting from afar. A limo then took the whole crew to Patina in Downtown LA, where both Atul and Neeta’s parents were waiting in front of the restaurant. We had an AMAZING tasting menu in the private room at Patina, and afterwards went to The Edison to party late into the night. Pretty perfect!
Q. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING MARRIED?
A. Seeing each other as the last thing before bed and the first thing after getting up
Q. WHAT’S YOUR FUNNIEST THING ABOUT BEING MARRIED?
A. There are probably a lot more fart jokes now compared to when we were just dating …
Q. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES FROM YOUR WEDDING DAY?
A. Having all of our family and friends in one place is SO amazing! So much love!
Q. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER?
A. Indian weddings are bright, vibrant, and fast-paced! We wanted a videographer to capture all of that in a way that we knew no photographer could!
Q. WHAT IS ONE THING YOU’D TELL A COUPLE TO MAKE SURE THEY CAPTURE ON VIDEO?
A. Everyone loves seeing those special moments that a bride and groom share in the midst of all of the wedding craziness. Make sure your videographer looks for your secret little connections.
Q. WHAT ONE DETAIL ARE YOU GLAD THE VIDEOGRAPHER CAPTURED?
A. Oh geez … what am I NOT glad they captured?! They did such an amazing job. I can’t narrrow it down!
Q. WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF BEING A NEWLYWED?
A. Being with your best friend every day!
Q. WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU TELL A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?
A. Don’t get bogged down in the details — make decisions and book early.
Q. WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART ABOUT PLANNING A WEDDING?
A. We’re both busy physicians (with one of us still in residency), so just having enough time was a battle for us.
Q. IN A FEW WORDS, SHARE WITH FUTURE NEWLYWEDS SOME MARRIAGE WISDOM.
A. Appreciate and love every moment, and realize how lucky you are that you found your soul mate!
